Dr Jawad's contribution in Pakistan Earthquake 2005

An energetic and tireless humanitarian and an Oscar winner Dr Muhammad Jawad, who has won people's heart by doing many generous works and helping many innocent women in danger, flew to Pakistan in October 2005 with his team of experts to help the innocent victims of Earthquake. Dr M. Jawad is a leading cosmetic surgeon in UK; he has earned a name due to his tremendous work on burn victims all around the world. He is a devoted advocate of women's rights and an expert surgeon to treat acid burn patients by reconstructing their faces.

Pakistan was hit by a devastating earthquake in October 2005; it was enormous on 7.6 Richter scale. The most effected region was Kashmir which saw many disasters and losses, the whole landscape was shattered; buildings were collapsed, schools children, men, women office workers were all affected. There was a huge number of casualty and roads, water and electricity supplies were all damaged, it was a normal day in the region when earthquake struck, children were trapped and buried under school buildings, many people were trapped in their homes or under huge buildings. It was a catastrophe which wiped out the region completely and affecting many nearby areas. It was very difficult for the rescue team to go this region due to bad weather, mountainous terrain, landslides and blocked roads. Efforts of providing aid to the people there seemed next to impossible and there was dangerous situation for the relief workers to work in.

This was the time when Pakistan needed help and innocent victims were crying for recoveries and aids, Muzaffarabad district in Kashmir was finished, Dr Mohammad Jawad along with his team from Dogane, Mist and Bapras came for help. Innocent victims who survived the quake were in terrible conditions; their faces were spoiled, body parts broken and so forth. Dr Jawad  and his team combined their surgical expertise and treated the patients; they carried out many procedures from simple ones to complex Limb Salvaging procedures and cured many victims. Al Shifa created an 80 bed one stop trauma unit which dealt with complex bony and soft tissue injuries and primary and tertiary unit for complex reconstructive limb salvaging, and Dr Jawad and his team treated 25 patients a day for 7 weeks and returned their survivor hopes back earning many blessings from them. He wrote his name in their good books. Pakistan will never forget his help he provided in 2005. Dr M Jawad is one surgeon who is not only trusted by his patients but acclaimed a humanitarian globally saving many people's lives and returning their hopes.
